The new cd of Jean-Pierre Zanella is a musical voyage in the world of two important composers from Brazil, Heitor Villa-Lobos and Antonio Carlos Jobim. These two men shared the same passion about nature. Villa-Lobos even wrote a symphonic suite to pay tribute to the beautiful brazilian land Floresta do Amazonas. As a matter of fact Jean-Pierre Zanella chose some of the songs from that symphonic work. Tom Jobim with a song like Aguas de março and many more has also declared his love for his homeland and his passion for brazilian nature. Jean-Pierre Zanella has adapted and arranged the songs for his quartet on this cd. The idea behind this cd is to take a musical trip into the universe of these two composers who not only inluenced but changed radically the music in Brazil. In other words Villa-Lobos & Jobim seen thru the eyes of jazz musicians. Jean-Pierre Zanella wants to pay his tribute to Brazil which is a continuous source of inspiration and love.
