Montréal-born singer Carole Therrien began studying music at a young age at Le Plateau School, and later at Joseph François-Perrault School. In 1994, she earned her bachelor's degree in voice (classical) at UQAM and was awarded the Fondation UQAM's Pierre J.Jeanniot scholarship.That same year, she was runner-up for the Mount-Royal Symphony Orchestra music competition. 1994 was also the year Carole discovered her love of jazz.
